“One day, we looked at our beautiful rolling hills and said, ‘Boy, wish we could bottle this.’ So, we did.”

Litchfield Distillery launched in 2014 by three brothers, David, Jack and Peter Baker, who share a love for bourbon and the bucolic northwest corner of Connecticut. The distillery has grown each year with distribution now in CT, MA, RI, NY, MD, DE, and DC. Our award-winning portfolio includes several bourbon whiskeys, flavored bourbons, rye whiskey, vodkas, gins and agave spirits. We also produce ready-to-drink cocktail cans as well as “full-proof” bottled Manhattan and Old Fashioned cocktails.

– Litchfield Distillery has been named “CT Distillery of the Year” four times by the NY International Spirits Competition.

– Connecticut Magazine named Litchfield Distillery the state’s “Best Distillery” six years in a row.

– Recent NY International Spirit Competition medals for our spirits include: a Double-Gold for our flagship Straight Bourbon Whiskey, Gold medals for Cask Strength Straight Bourbon Whiskey, 5-Yr. Double-Barreled Bourbon, and Rye Whiskey.

– At the 2021 ASCOT Awards, our Port Cask Finished Bourbon took home a Double-Platinum medal, while our Agave Spirits earned a Platinum medal, and Rye Whiskey earned a Gold.

The distillery is proud of its commitment to the environment and incorporates a farm-to-bottle-to-farm philosophy into all that we do. For example, nearly all of the spent grains from the distilling process are returned to local farms where they are incorporated into grain feed for livestock. In addition, Litchfield Distillery is nearly 100% powered by solar energy, from the panels on our rooftop.

Our bourbon whiskeys are non-chill filtered and “high-rye” with a mash bill that is 70% corn, 25% rye, and 5% malted barley. Our Rye Whisky is 70% winter rye and 30% malted barley. All our grains are sourced from Connecticut farms.

We also make delicious Ready-to-Drink Cocktail Cans (7% alc./vol.) in three varieties: The Litchfielder (our signature cocktail–similar to a whiskey sour), Spiked Lemonade, and Batcherita (our spin on a margarita). We also offer two “full proof” bottled cocktails (750ml): Manhattan and Old Fashioned.
