From handcrafting spirits in an airplane hangar in Alaska, to providing the highest quality spirits in Nevada, High Mark Distillery has experienced quite the meteoric rise to success!
Felicia Keith-Jones, had spent her early career teaching in the Alaskan Bush, and flying through the Alaskan skies with Bush Pilots.
However, she decided to fulfill her dream of opening one of the first distilleries, in one of the most remote locations on the planet.
After studying in Northern Ireland and receiving the proper credentials, she returned to Alaska and began High Mark Distillery.
Whipping up batches of Moonshine and Apple Jack in an airplane hangar, during massive snow storms and slamon fishing seasons, brought the locals and tourists alike, wanting to have a peek. They were amazed at the quality of the handcrafted spirits that they experienced in the Last Frontier. Before long, the distillery was booked with tasting parties, tours, concerts, and weddings. High Mark Distillery even received a Congressional Citation, the Highest Honor bestowed upon a business by the Alaska Speaker of the House, for pioneering this new industry of Distilling, for Alaska.
With more customers, came the need for more grain. Alaska doesn’t grow grain, so all of our distillery grains were always trucked and barged up to Alaska from Nevada.
So, it was time to move on down to where the grain was grown, and super size the distillery.
High Mark Distillery moved to Reno, Nevada and opened their doors in 2019.
The response from people in Nevada, and neighboring states, has been nothing short of spectacular!
At High Mark Distillery, all of our grains are Nevada grown, and our fruits are delivered fresh from family-owned farms. The organic fruits are pressed for our orchard fresh spirits. We even mill our own grain each day, to ensure freshness.
We now make 14 Craft Spirits in house every day, and have extensive barrel houses full of Bourbon, Rye Whiskey, Maple Pecan Whiskey, and Rum. We are the only distillery in Nevada to make Cognac, too. We love being known for our exceptional quality in all that we create.
